Co-Owner | Level 2 Instructor

Alex Ignacio

What is your fitness experience and background?
I'm Co-Owner and an Instructor here at Blue Sky Pilates. I previously owned a Russian kettlebell and cross training gym. Currently I teach Pilates, kettlebells, and cross training classes. I love helping people achieve their fitness goals, working together to help them lead healthier, happier lives.

What makes you passionate about Pilates?
Pilates has had a profound effect on my life. It's a foundational type of activity in that Pilates will help make you better at all the other things you participate in. Whether that's hiking, dancing, soccer, cross training, running, or anything else, Pilates' core principles will help you be more awesome at it. It's amazing to see how Pilates helps our clients with everything in their lives, from moving through their regular life with confidence, to recovering from an injury or surgical procedure, to enhancing their athletic performance.

What types of clients do you love to work with?
I love working with people that are looking to be pushed, that want to expand their boundaries and reach the next level of health and fitness.

What classes do you teach?
Currently, I teach a wide assortment of classes at Blue Sky Pilates. It varies quite a bit but you'll usually catch me teaching most MOTR classes, many of our Beginner and Intermediate Reformer classes, and then taking as many classes with Lecie, Cinna, Helen, and Lilia as possible.

What makes your instruction style unique?
My teaching style is active and fun, and I try to get everyone into a relaxed state of mind. There tends to be a lot of laughter! I also insist on playing music, which isn't technically traditional, but then neither am I.

For someone considering Pilates and Blue Sky Pilates, what would you tell them?
Take our Intro to Pilates package, it’s an unbelievable value which gets you three 45-minute private sessions where you can discover exactly what we do at Blue Sky Pilates and how it can help you look better, feel better, and be better. After that you can make a well informed decision about us, and I’m betting you’ll want to join our wonderfully supportive studio and community.
